Donald Trump Is Not on the Ballot, but I Am Still Voting for Him

An empty voting booth with a small American flag in late-afternoon light

Back in 2015 and 2016, when seventeen Republicans were running for president, I would have voted for any of them except Donald Trump. When it finally got down to Trump, Rubio, and Cruz, I wrote a detailed letter to the Wall Street Journal. They never published it, but I charted the strengths and weaknesses of all three men, and my final choice was Ted Cruz. Trump came in last. Third out of three. Only two things set him apart. He was a businessman, not a career politician. And he was the only one talking about a wall on our southern border.

Then he won the nomination, and something came over me. I don't know how else to describe it. I felt impressed that the hand of God was in this, that there was something different about this man, and that he was the right man for the job.

The night he won was a miracle. To this day I love watching those old videos of the pollsters, politicians, and celebrities boldly pronouncing that he would never be president, laughing about it, and then he wins. They've had to eat their words so many times. And I'm telling you, they never got over it.

Why all the opposition? What was it about him? I found my answer in a book called The President Makers by Don Fotheringham, published in 2014. It never mentions Trump. Fotheringham walks through our elections from about 1880 onward, when a handful of ruthless men became enormously wealthy through railroads, steel, oil, and the assembly line. The newspapers reported how terribly they treated their workers, which is what the press is supposed to do. So these men pooled their money, bought twenty-five of the largest newspapers in the country, put their own editors in charge, and fired the reporters who kept telling the truth. We are still living with the consequences today.

Over time they became the deciders of who gets to be president, and Fotheringham shows that every president since Herbert Hoover has been one they chose. Then along comes Trump. He came out of nowhere with nobody's backing, and the media propped him up on purpose. He was famous and controversial and great for ratings, and they figured he would be an easy loss. But he was the first president in a long time who wasn't chosen by that group. He was chosen by the people.

That's why they hate him. They cannot control him.

Our media was given constitutional protection unlike anything in the history of the world, and it has become the propaganda arm of the same elite that owns it. The lies told about this man could never be listed, and in this midterm we are seeing it all over again. Why? Because the last two years have hit that system right where it hurts. Crime has dropped to levels we haven't seen in decades. Overdose deaths have plummeted. The flow of illegal drugs is being stopped, and illegal aliens are being deported. All of that is money and control to the elite, and they're losing it. They've even tried to assassinate him.

New here? I give away Chapter 8 of my book, the one I get asked about more than any other. It makes the scriptural case that the seven seals haven't opened yet, one of the more provocative claims I make. Join the newsletter and it's yours. Get the Free Chapter →

Now here's why this matters to me beyond politics. I believe Donald Trump is in the scriptures. I've written a whole book about it. Isaiah describes a servant God raises up in the last days, and one of the ways you recognize him is how the world feels about him...

Thus saith the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the Lord that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee. (Isaiah 49:7)

Jesus Christ is the ultimate servant, and nothing I say compares any man to Him. But Isaiah's prophecies are fulfilled more than once, and no one in all of history has had his image and reputation marred like Donald Trump. Not by thousands of people. By hundreds of millions. He's been turned on by some of his own supporters too, and that's another sign. I laugh at people sometimes. I'll ask, "You know there's a servant prophesied to come in the last days?" Oh yeah, I know that. "And you know he's going to be despised?" Yep, everybody's going to hate him. "And you hate this man, right?" Oh, absolutely, he's disgusting. "So you're fulfilling prophecy." Oh no, no, it's got to be somebody else. They just fulfilled the prophecy and didn't even recognize it.

People ask why he talks the way he does. Couldn't he do things differently? That's actually part of the prophecy...

And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; (Isaiah 49:2)

He speaks sharp words, not smooth words. He calls them out. He calls them fake news and tells them exactly what they're doing. Now look at how Daniel describes the Antichrist, a man who is still to come...

And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. (Daniel 11:21)

Smooth. Deceptive. Let's all get along and work together, when he has no plan at all. If you're voting for someone because he's a smooth talker, you need to learn that pattern now, because that is exactly how the real Antichrist will come.

Satan's greatest weapon is the half truth. He never tells the whole truth, and he never tells a total falsehood you can recognize. He mixes them, and that's all we're seeing now.

The Epstein files are the clearest example I know. Yes, Trump's name is in them. He and Epstein were friends for a couple of years and lived near each other. But Trump threw him out of his club and cut off all contact, and there is no record he ever set foot on that island. An FBI document released this year even shows that when Palm Beach police were investigating Epstein in 2006, Trump called the police chief and thanked him for stopping him. Being mentioned is not the same as being guilty of something. Nothing in those files has produced a single charge against him, so now they say the rest is being hidden. That's the half truth. His name is in there, and they let you assume everything else. I wrote a whole article on the Epstein files if you want the details. And right on schedule, a week before the election, House Democrats released a report on eleven women, five of them accusing him of assault back in the 1990s. Most of those accusations have been public for years, and he denies all of them. There is no way to test any of it before the vote, and they know that. It's more marring.

Prices are the same game. Gas went up when we confronted Iran, and yes, that's temporary, but an Iran with a nuclear weapon is far more dangerous than a few dollars at the pump. Houses here in Reno run seven hundred thousand dollars, so people say capitalism hasn't worked and maybe we should try something else. That is exactly where the elite have wanted us for decades, ready to own nothing and be happy while a very few control everybody else. It has been tried over and over, and it has killed hundreds of millions of people. Even some lifelong Democrats are saying they can't support what their party has turned into.

So why does this midterm matter? In one sense, it doesn't matter who wins. It won't stop what I believe Donald Trump has been sent here to do. His job is to clear the way, to push back the people who have run things for a hundred years so that freedom, families, and the work of God can move forward again. Nothing will stop that. But in another sense, it matters very much. With a Republican House and Senate, he can keep making America great again. Without them, everything gets much harder. And this election will show people where they are aligned. A great division is coming, and everyone is going to end up on one side or the other. The consequences of being on the wrong side are devastating.

That's why I'm voting for anyone with an R next to their name, even some I don't particularly like. And that's why I'm voting for Donald Trump, even though he's not on the ballot.

I know I'm not going to change anybody's mind with this. I learned that a long time ago. Whatever you believe colors everything you see, and that's one of the basic premises of my book. Some of you like this man, and most of you can't stand him. I'm not asking you to agree with me. I just want you to know where I stand and why. This is no ordinary midterm.

In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
