What Seal Are We In?

I ask people a simple question. What seal do you think we are in right now, the sixth or the seventh? Almost without exception they answer confidently. We are in the seventh.

Then I open Revelation 6 and we walk through the sixth seal together, one event at a time. A great earthquake. The sun black as sackcloth. The stars falling. The heavens departing as a scroll. Every mountain and island moved out of its place. The rich and powerful fleeing into the rocks and begging the mountains to fall on them.

By the time we reach the end of that list, the room has gone quiet. Because none of it has happened.
