Why People Leave the Church: There Is Only One Real Reason

Every person who has ever left The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints left for the exact same reason. Not a hundred reasons. One.
In this video I go through the long list of reasons people give, the offense, the church history problem, the prayer that never got answered, the doctrine they could not accept, and then walk through Alma 32 slowly to show what is actually happening underneath all of them.
Then I say something I have rarely heard taught in this Church: you are one hundred percent responsible for your own testimony. Not your bishop. Not your parents. Not your ward. Not whether anyone ever ministered to you.
The second half is for anyone who has walked away, or who loves someone who has. I talk about what the swelling motions in Alma 32 actually feel like, why so many people dismiss the Spirit they have already felt, and what happens when the mind and the heart come into conflict and the mind wins. Most people who leave do not lose a testimony. They talk themselves out of one they already had.
